Description:
Sam comes to Pug Rescue from Riverside County’s Coachella Shelter, we were called about this guy who had a badly infected eye. As you can see from his pictures, this must have been very painful. Sam was picked up as a stray and brought to the shelter, so we have no idea what happened to his eye, or when. We do know that he was only able to get minimal treatment in the shelter, so he waited for seven days until all his holds were up and we were able to get him out of there and to Cuyamaca for care. Sam has been a sweet, loving boy throughout his painful ordeal, accepting help from many strangers with a friendly wag of his tail. Sam is safe now, and recovering in a loving foster home. His eye has been removed, and he is otherwise a healthy young dog. Our hearts go out to Sam, who sat in the shelter with his eye like this, and we are sorry for the pain and fear he must have felt. Sam deserves a loving, wonderful forever home of his own - perhaps you'd like to show this little guy what it's like to be a treasured companion?

New Beginning: Sam is our first Pug to get adopted in 2010!! Yay for Sam, who has found a wonderful forever home with a new Pug brother named Gus. We are so glad to have been able to help Sam get healthy and find a loving home where he will get the best of care. We'd like to thank everyone who has helped us help Sam!
