Description: Meet darling Grayson. Grayson came to Pug Rescue from the shelter, they found him as a stray after he had been attacked by larger dogs. Grayson's attack injuries have been treated, but he was so nervous and scared at the shelter that he was chewing on the bars and may have damaged some of his teeth. Poor guy, he also managed to get kennel cough while he was there, so once he is over his kennel cough, he will be neutered and have his teeth cleaned and cared for. Whew! This little guy has been through a LOT!
After having Grayson in foster care, our vets discovered that his injuries were more extensive than we had initially thought. At the beginning of April, Grayson had an FHO surgery on his right rear leg, and is still recovering. Basically they had to rebreak and repair his hip joint. His foster is working with him on physical therapy, and he is using the leg some, but will need continued work. He needs to go for walks, and be encouraged to use the leg so that he can regain full use of it.
Grayson is no longer on medications, and his sutures are out, so he is available to meet families. He gets along great with other dogs, and is potty trained. He likes his crate, and is well mannered in the house. Grayson is on a hypoallergenic diet and is doing well. His coat is coming in nicely, he just has a few bald patches from his previous life.
Since Grayson was attacked by bigger dogs, we think he'd do best in a home with other small friends or perhaps a bigger dog who is gentle and sweet. Grayson gets along great with small children, and is in a foster home with two toddlers! All in all, Grayson is a sweet, loving fellow who needs a home that will appreciate what he has been through and give him lots of Pug snuggling.
