Description: Hazel come to Pug Rescue after being used extensively as a breeder dog. We initially thought that she suffered from a prolapsed uterus, but after a visit to the vet, we learned that she was just in heat, and things aren't where they used to be. Hazel is scheduled to be spayed and have her teeth cleaned on 5/6/10, and that should take care of all of that. Poor girl.
Hazel is doing fairly well with potty training considering she is in heat and her lady parts are not completely inside. (Dogs in heat often mark in many places) Hazel will feel much better one she is spayed and everything is back where it belongs.
Hazel gets along great with other dogs, and she is very determined to sleep in bed with you! Hazel was gated in the kitchen for her first night in her foster home so that she could rest peacefully on her own. Well, she wasn't having any of that and chewed through the gate and very politely showed up to scratch on the bedroom door. A nice dog bed next to their bed wouldn't do, but once allowed up on the covers, she settled right down and went to sleep. So, if you don't want a dog on the bed, Hazel is not the girl for you!
Hazel is very sweet and affectionate, gets along great with other dogs, and is very active. She would do best in a home where she has company, either human or canine, most of the time. Wouldn't you like to give this darling the chance to know what it is to be a pampered pet? |
