Description:
Meet Scarlett. Scarlett is a tiny darling of a girl. She came to Pug Rescue very underweight, covered in fleas and anemic. Through the work and care of Pug Rescue and her fantastic foster mom, Scarlett has already gained over a pound and a half, is flea free, her coat is growing back in, and she's feeling fantastic! Scarlett recently had surgery to repair her long palate, was spayed, had her teeth cleaned and 14 teeth were pulled because they were in such bad shape. Scarlett still needs to gain some weight, but other than that, she's recovering beautifully and is now ready for her forever home!

Scarlett does have "trick knees" that pop in and out, but they don't cause her any pain and don't slow her down at all. Many little dogs have knee problems, and as long as they are not allowed to jump on and off of furniture, it isn't often too much of a problem.

Scarlett is doing well on her housetraining, but still needs to be reminded to go potty by being taken out to the grass. Scarlett does well with other dogs and while she likes kids, a home with older, calmer children might be best for her. She also has a tendency to get underfoot, so she'll need a family that is steady on their feet and able to quickly step over her.

Scarlett loves to play with toys, and is a great kisser! She really enjoys sleeping in the baby's bouncy chair in her foster home. Silly little girl. Scarlett will make a fun loving companion for the right home and she's small enough that she surely would enjoy being carried and spending lots of time snuggled on your lap!
