Medical condition: Had to have his eye removed |
Description: Sweet Samson comes to Pug Rescue from the shelter in Bakersfield. Poor little guy was there for two weeks with a badly infected eye, so by the time they let us have him, there was no way to save it and it had to be removed. Eye infections are terribly painful, so he is actually feeling much better now. When Samson had surgery, he was also neutered, had his teeth cleaned, got a microchip, and had surgery on his paw to remove a foxtail. He also was infested with fleas and has some fleabite dermatitis, but that will clear up with good food and not having fleas anymore. What a rough time! Samson is on the mend and hoping to find a wonderful new family that will take care of him the way a Puggie should be cared for, a beloved, pampered family member. Samson gets along great with other dogs, and is very grateful for any affection from humans. He knows to poop outside, but he does mark a bit in the house, which is why he's wearing a belly band in the photos. This is something that he surely can be taught not to do, also remember he is four years old and was just neutered, so once his testosterone levels drop, it is likely he will be less inclined to mark. He's a smart guy, so we're sure with some training, he'll figure it out! Samson is being fostered in Van Nuys, so if you are up in that area, go meet him! If you are in San Diego and would like to make Samson part of your forever family, contact us and arrangements can be made to transport him down here. Samson is a sweet, loving Pug, who has had a rough life so far. Let's make sure that this guy finds a fabulous forever home! Contact us if you are interested in meeting this boy! Update 7/4/10 - Samson's foster mom reports that he is now completely potty trained, and is a sweet, darling boy who is very well mannered around the house and a real pleasure to be around. She says he is one of the best Pugs she has ever fostered! Samson loves kids and would do well in a home with a family. |
| New Beginning: Samson was greeted with open arms at his new home by a family anxious for his arrival! his foster mom reported that it was as if Samson had known his new family all of his life and settled right in to his new digs upon receiving the grand tour. Congratulations! |
