Description:
Meet Ester! Ester comes to Pug Rescue from the shelter in Orange County where she was taken in as a stray. Ester is a tiny girl, weighing in at just 13 lbs. She's still young, and very active. Her coat is a very dark, smutty color, with lots of black on her back. Adorable! Ester has been spayed and she is blind in her left eye. Her right eye is fine. She was possibly born that way and it is a bit cloudy, but does not require drops. She has an ear infection and we are working on clearing that up. It does appear that Ester is a bit hard of hearing, though she is not completely deaf, she does hear whistles, clickers and a louder voice. Ester has learned some obedience in her foster home but will either need to continue with private lessons or enroll in an obedience class so that she does well with her new family. Ester is proving to be quite smart, and likes to learn, but she will require a patient, dedicated owner. Ester is a very active girl, loves to run and jump! She's also a great kisser! Ester prefers the company of humans and will tolerate other dogs to a degree, she mostly kind of ignores them, preferring to snuggle on her human's lap. She doesn't like sharing her lap, so she will likely do best as an only dog. She is fine with cats and small children. Ester is still working on her potty training, we suspect she was used as a breeder dog because she has a tendency to mark. So far, it's been limited to dog beds that belong to others, but she'll learn. She has been learning how to use a dog door in her foster home, but still needs to be monitored to make sure she goes in the right spot. If you are interested in giving Ester a forever home where she can be part of the family, contact us to learn how you can meet her!

New Beginning: Congrats! Ester has been made an official member of her foster family! We know that little Ester is a special case, and needs an incredibly patient family. Everyone here at Pug Rescue is thrilled that Ester has found her perfect family.
