Description: Meet Mrs. Beasley! This is Beasley's second trip through Pug Rescue. Relinquished by her original owner along with two other Pugs in October 2009, because she could no longer care for them, Beasley quickly found a wonderful, loving forever home. Unfortunately, things just aren't working out as we had hoped. Beasley is simply not getting along with the resident, older female Pug who she is supposed to be best pals with. Despite all efforts made to help these two top dog girls get along, Beasley insists on going after her Pug sister whenever someone in the family gives either dog attention. Daily fights have made living with the two of them quite stressful for everyone in the home. Beasley does get along well with most dogs, she grew up with two other Pugs, and in her new home lived with two Pugs and two larger dogs, and was perfectly lovely with everyone, she just has it out for the one Pug. Sometimes, girls just don't get along. So, with heavy hearts, Beasley's family decided that the best thing for both girls would be to split them up and find a new forever home for Beasley where she can be top dog and not be challenged. Beasley will do fine in a home with male dogs, or very submissive females. She also would do well in a home with larger dogs who won't take any of her attitude seriously. She is fine with cats and kids, and loves to go to the dog park and dog beach and socializes well with everyone there. She is great when off leash, but can be a bit pushy when on the leash. Beasley is a lover, not a fighter, but she needs to be the boss and delights in telling everyone what to do. She's built like a little tank, so she's got the body to back up her vibrant personality. Beasley has no known health issues, she's very active, she's potty trained and crate trained. Her house manners are pretty good, although she is working on not jumping up in her foster home. Beasley's foster mom is a professional dog trainer, so Beasley will be getting some obedience training while she is in her foster home. It is strongly recommended that Beasley's new family continue with obedience training, as she really needs the structure and she enjoys learning new things. Beasley loves her humans, loves to give kisses, and is quite skilled and cuddle time on the couch. She may do well as an only dog, but she's used to company, so if she were the only dog, she'd want her humans around much of the time. And she'd like regular dog park trips, because she does like to socialize and play with other dogs. Beasley would be a great agility dog, jogging partner (when it's cool out), or obedience dog if someone were so inclined. She loves to chase toys, and generally brings them back. She's an active girl and needs an active family that can keep up with her! Beasley is a gorgeous smutty color, with a nice square head. She really is a beautiful girl.
