Description: Hemi comes to Pug Rescue from an owner who could no longer care for him. Financial hardship, a reason we have seen all too much in the past few years. Sadly, Hemi has not been to the vet in four years, so by the time we got him, he needed some care. Hemi has been to our vets at Cuyamaca, and we are now treating him for ear infections in both ears, he has been vaccinated and microchipped, had his nails trimmed, and he is now on meds for arthritis in his back, hips, and knees. He should be feeling like a new man soon! Hemi is also scheduled to have his teeth cleaned, and he is now on a diet. Extra weight makes arthritis so much tougher, we find that our seniors do much better when kept slim. The red spots you can see on his eyes are from some sort of trauma, but are healing and should not affect his vision. We are not sure why he can't see, but his foster family reports that he bumps into walls and furniture, so we know he doesn't see well. Hemi is a sweet, sweet boy, loves pets and attention. He really enjoys being around other dogs, so would be a great companion for another middle aged or senior dog. He is potty trained - you just have to help him find the door the first few times and make sure he gets out. Hemi will be a wonderful, quiet companion for someone who would be willing to give this guy a little extra TLC. He is really enjoying his foster home where he is getting lots of attention and love, and he seems grateful for it. Perhaps you'd like to give this sweet man a place to rest his paws so he can enjoy his golden years getting spoiled like a Pug should? Contact us to learn how to meet Hemi. |
