Meet tiny Tyson. Weighing in at just 8 lbs full grown, Tyson comes to us from the shelter. We suspect he may be a mix, but we think he's mostly Pug. Because he is from the shelter, we just don't know. Tyson does have a rather large scar on his back, and our vets think perhaps he got caught under a car, but again, we will never know for sure. Tyson is recovering from kennel cough, so should not be around other dogs for another week or so until he feels better. He is on the shy side, likely due to his size and from being on his own. Once he gets to know you though, he is very cuddly, friendly, and sweet. Because he is in isolation while he recovers, we are not sure how he will be around other dogs. So far, he's been good with the ones he's seen on walks, but they have all been at a distance. Our vets also noticed that he has a slow heart rate, so that will be something that his new home will need to keep an eye on with regular check ups. At this point, he seems fine, so we are just watching him. Tyson has not had any accidents in the house, and has been great about going potty outside, though he has been getting regular walks, which helps. He loves to snuggle on the couch, and will arrange himself so he is always touching his foster mom. Tyson will need some work and some socialization to help him become more confident, but we think with time and TLC, he will do just fine. Tyson's ideal home is a quiet, loving one. He may not be the best candidate for a home with small children or lots of boisterous dogs. Older children that can handle a small dog gently may be okay.
