Description:
Meet Mozzie, a lucky boy who found his way to Pug Rescue just before the holidays. Mozzie was in the shelter in Orange County, and his owners were located and called, but they never came to pick him up. Luckily for him, one of our volunteers went and bailed him out so he could be in a loving foster home with a warm bed instead of in a cold kennel for the holidays. We still can not understand how someone just left this sweet old man at the shelter, after he's been in their life for so long. Mozzie does have some breathing problems - he's been diagnosed with a collapsing trachea and a paralyzed larynx. These are common problems with Pugs, and losing weight will help him greatly. Many Pugs have these problems, and do very well once they are thinner, although some eventually require medication, so far Mozzie is doing just great on his own. Mozzie gets along great with everyone - people, other dogs, cats - and he is a sweet, loving boy. His foster mom says he is wonderful in the house, and is learning to use the doggie door. He has been wonderful about going potty outside, and he thinks having a door is a fine idea! By far, Mozzie's favorite thing is to have his ears rubbed, and he's getting lots of those in his foster home. Mozzie is a darling old guy who deserves better in life than to be abandoned - won't you consider opening your heart and home to this sweet boy? If you'd like to experience one life's greatest joys, consider adopting a senior Pug - they truly make the best friends. Contact us to learn how to meet this wonderful boy. Sadly, on 4/22/11, Mozzie passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. At his age, we can only guess at the cause. What we do know is that he will be greatly missed by his loving foster family. Everyone at Pug Rescue appreciates all the time and love that they gave to Mozzie, and we know that his last months were likely his best. Rest peacefully, dear Mozzie. Say hello to all our Pug friends that meet you at the Bridge....
