Meet Zoe! Zoe is a one year old female with tons of energy. Pug Rescue picked up Zoe from the Chula Vista shelter where she was left by her owner because her family was too busy to care for her. The owner brought Zoe in to the shelter in a trash can and it was apparent that he did not understand what an amazing little dog she is! Because of this lack of care during Zoe's first year of life, she now has demodex mange and can definitely use some obedience training. Her heart is in the right place, she's very sweet, but she also needs to learn some basic rules. Her fosters are working on potty training her but there is still work to be done. She gets along very well with the other two pugs in the foster home and because of her sweet nature, her fosters believe that she would be good with children. Zoe also lived with children in her former home.
Zoe loves to play with any kind of toy, especially the plush type, and loves to go for walks. She's being crate trained and has taken very well to sleeping in her crate. The crate training has also been a great help with her potty training.
Zoe is currently on a twice monthly topical medication to help clear up her mange. The veterinarian predicts that Zoe will be mange free and with her hair growing back in within the next 8 weeks/by mid April. She is also being treated for a yeast infection in both ears which requires cleaning of the ears and drops once daily for the next 2 weeks. Demodex mange is not contagious to other dogs, so there is no reason she can't go to her new home, as long as her new family is willing to continue her treatments. Zoe will surely be a wonderful addition to any home, but especially one who will value what a wonderful, sweet girl she is. Contact us if you are interested in meeting this girl! |
