Description: This is Ernie. Ernie is another little lost soul who made his way to Pug Rescue from the shelter. We don't know much about his history, but he came to us with many medical issues. Ernie had severe neurological problems and had no use of his hind legs and was incontinent. Our vets suspect he had been hit by a car and never treated. Ernie was in a lot of pain, and while he was with his foster family, they made him as comfortable as they could. Even in so much pain, Ernie was a delight to his foster family, entertaining them with his silly antics. Ernie loved carrying his favorite toys around the house and trying to get his foster sisters to play. Ernie loved to sleep in, and loved to help clean up in the kitchen (yay! snacks!). Ernie never let his bad back legs slow him down, and remained happy and resilient. After seeing our vets, the very difficult decision was made to let Ernie cross the Bridge, as his medical issues were affecting his quality of life and his problems were too many to be successfully repaired. On April 18, 2011, Ernie crossed over the Bridge surrounded by people who loved him. He will be remembered and always missed. Rest easy, little friend. We now think of you healthy, happy, and running without pain. |
