Medical condition: Recovering from scabies |
Description: Meet Jake. Jake was rescued from the shelter and our vets determined that poor Jake was infested with scabies. Scabies is an extremely infectious skin parasite. It appears Jake has had the scabies for awhile as his skin is red and sore from constant scratching. He also has thinning of his fur. Jake has been in quarantine from his foster siblings until the vet determines he is no longer contagious to the other dogs in his foster family. His dedicated foster mom has been ingenious in figuring out ways to spend snuggle time with Jake during his crate time so she does not contract scabies. Jake shows his appreciation by giving lots of kisses. Jake is a rambunctious boy who loves to run in the yard and play chase with the cat until the cat turns on him and lets him know who is boss. He also loves to snuggle under the warm blankets after a good romp. The vet tells us Jake is three to four years old but he sure acts like a puppy. He is doing very well with his potty training. Jake has recovered from his ear infection. He continues to get treatment for his ulcerated left eye. The right eye has completely healed although he has scarring but it does not seem to affect his vision. Jake will be neutered once the scabies resolves. Contact Pug Rescue if we can introduce you to Jake. |
