Description: Sweet Arlo came to rescue as a stray from the shelter. It appears this poor girl had been neglected for a very long time. She had horribly infected ears and demodex mange. Thankfully, the shelter contacted rescue as they knew we would give her the medical care and nurturing she desperately needed. The last picture of Arlo is of her on her way to get a freedom burger after leaving the shelter.
Arlo, is a spunky sweet 12 pound princess. Despite her medical condition, she is very puppy like and has bursts of energy. She is learning to chew on her toys and not her foster mom. Arlo is doing really good with going potty outside.
The vet believes the long term untreated ear infection has robbed her of her hearing. Arlo has a slight head tilt which the vet hoped was caused by the ear infection. Unfortunately, the resolution of the ear infection did not result in her returning to a normal head position. The head tilt is likely a neurological issue but the vet does not see it problem since she is eating, drinking, playing, and is a very happy girl.
Arlo is on daily ivermectin to kill the demodex mites and will likely continue on the medication for several months until she is mite free.
Arlo is a special gal, who loves attention and barks at you if you dare to ignore her. If Arlo has melted your heart, please contact us for a play date with the princess. |
