Description:
We are proud to introduce you to one of our very special strolling seniors. Kubla Khan and his pug mate Genghis Khan were relinquished to Pug Rescue as the former owner lost their home due to financial hardship. Fortunately, Kubla has made his way into a loving foster home where he regularly gets puggie massages to ease his arthritis. He is crippled from the arthritis and will need medication for the rest of his life. X-rays of his spine show seven vertebrae have been fused together. The front legs are fused to the socket so they pull inward towards the other leg. Kubla finds it difficult to walk but must exercise to maintain his remaining mobility. Kubla is a true testament to the sweet loving nature of a pug. It is amazing that he continues to have a pleasant disposition despite his medical condition. Kubla's foster mom tells us that he is one of the sweetest pugs you could ask for. He loves to cuddle and willingly takes his medication. Kubla is fascinated by the feline foster siblings. I bet he wishes his body would allow him to run and play with them! He is gentle with his pug foster siblings and will even let the other pug share his dinner. Kubla has learned to use the doggie door although he does sometimes forget how to use it. His potty training is coming along quite well although he still has accidents in the house on occasion. It is quite difficult for Kubla to go potty like other dogs. He does his "business" while walking, hence the nickname "zig zag." Kubla is kenneled at night with plenty of blankets to keep warm until the heated bed arrives. Kubla coughs a lot due to a collapsed trachea and he snores. Adopting a senior pug is a true gift both for the pug and the adopting family. The senior pug will warm your heart with their unassuming manner and grateful spirit. Please contact Pug Rescue if you can give this sweet old fellow a warm place to rest and a little puggie massage in the morning.
