Pug Rescue of San Diego County (PRSDC) is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing unwanted, neglected, abandoned, and relinquished Pugs and placing them into a new permanent home where they may live out their lives in a loving and caring environment. We are an approved 501(c)(3) charity. Our organization has been in existence since 1991 and is recognized as one of the most respected, organized, and active groups in Southern California. Each year we rescue many Pugs, and the number is increasing. This work requires the time, effort, and love of dozens of volunteers to serve in many capacities. Pug Rescue's Board of Directors meet several times each year to discuss issues of concern and to plan our various events throughout the year. The general membership meets yearly to be informed by the Board of ongoing issues, general member concerns, and to help organize events. We usually hold six major events throughout the year:
The Del Mar Pug Party, our largest fund-raiser of the year, boasts 400+ Pugs attending. It is held on the first Saturday in May at the beautiful Del Mar Fairgrounds. Each year our party is mentioned on dozens of TV network affiliates across the country, as well as our local TV stations. Board Members and volunteers represent PRSDC at Animal Shelter rescue meetings and participate in other civic events as well. We invite you to join PRSDC for the love of Pugs by becoming a member. Your membership is an important part of keeping our mission alive. We thank you for your interest.
